Cleveland Museum of Art’s Artlens - クリーブランド美術館では、新しいアート体験を提供
美術館でアート作品を楽しむためには、それを観る側の能力・知識・センスが大きく影響する。しかし、ここで紹介するような体験が提供できれば、多くの人が今まで以上にアート作品を楽しむことが出来る。
クリーブランド美術館では、指先のタッチでアート作品の情報が得られる「コレクション·ウォール」と呼ばれる大型のビデオスクリーンが用意されている。そして、それとセットで動作する「アート·レンズ」と呼ばれるソフトウェアを搭載したI-パッドの提供を行っている。それだけではなく、ナビゲーションシステムの提供と、そこから得られる情報によりそれぞれの美術作品に対する滞留時間などを後で解析できるようになっているようだ。
Visiting an art museum can sometimes be intimidating or perplexing, trying to put the art and artists in context is a challenge. But the Cleveland Museum of Art is offering some good news: There's an App for That! Recently, the museum began offering visitors I-pads loaded with software called "art-lens," Which works with a set of large video screens called a "collection wall" to put information about the artworks right at your fingertips. The Art-Lens App is the first of its kind in the country and museums from coast to coast are waiting to see how the grand experiment works out.
