巨大なショッピングセンターでは、自分の位置、目的の商品棚までの移動方法、お買い得商品などを把握することは、なかなか難しい。小さい店舗なら不便はことは少ないが、大型のショッピングセンターでは不便なことや情報を見逃すことも多いだろう。
そこで、ショッピングカート装着タイプのタブレット＋ソフトウェアの出番となる。自分のいる位置から目的の位置までの経路や、棚情報と場所情報に基づきお買い得商品を表示したり詳しい情報をガイドしてくれるという画期的なシステムだ。3D認識技術のProject Tangoがこのような場面で使用できるとはあまり想像がつかなかったが、なるほどと思えた。
