工場内での機器の障害の早期発見、修正方法のナビゲーション、遠隔からの支援などでもARの技術は利用が始まっている。iQagentという企業での取り組みは先し先を進んでいるようだ。

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Technology is constantly changing, and this forces existing companies to change with it. It also creates an opening for new companies to come in with new and different ideas.

One such company is iQagent, based in Alpharetta. They have created a mobile app that uses technology called “augmented reality” in manufacturing and industrial settings.

Augmented reality is not a new technology. In essence, it is using a live video feed and adding computer-generated images on top of it. A simple example is watching football games on TV. The first down line is yellow on the screen, but different on the field. There are also logos and information on the screen that the players and those in the stadium cannot see. This addition of graphics to a feed is augmented reality.
