New smartphone app shows 1995 Kobe quake damage in augmented reality - 1995年の神戸大地震の被害をARで知る

自然災害において過去の歴史をたどることは時に重要なことだ。例えば神戸の過去に起きた大地震。スマートフォンアプリjunaioを起動してカメラをある方向に向けると、過去にその場所で起きた悲惨な映像を見ることができる。目を背けることなく、このような災害を振り返ることで学べることも多いだろう。

The government of Nagata Ward in Kobe will never forget that fateful day of January 17, 1995 when the Great Hanshin Earthquake devastated the region. Now almost 19 years later, visitors to the city can see how far they have come towards reconstructing the city through a location-based smartphone app that was developed by the government.
