"SmartAR" is Sony's real-time image recognition technology for augmented reality (AR) which runs on mobile platforms. Graphic objects, such as pictures, posters and packages, can be detected and tracked ("Marker-less Object Recognition Technology" ), and scenes around the user can be recognized as 3D structure on-the-fly ("3D Space Recognition Technology"). With these novel core technologies, SmartAR enables high quality AR applications as you see in this video.
