In a world without spectacles? the watchmaker retires as his eye sight falters and many older citizens, and those born with the need for vision correction, might be penniless or cast aside. Imagine if folks such as Dante were not actually blind by today’s standards, but needed extreme correction. What other great works would he have penned?
